Savannah + AJ | Lithonia, Georgia Engagement Session

You know how some say that you've probably already met "the one", you just don't know it yet...yeah, that's kind of how Savannah and AJ happened. The first time she met him was at church.  However, he was dating one of her close friends.  So after their initial meeting that was probably the last time they spoke.

After about three years had past and a new found Twitter addition occurred. . .lol. . .Savannah and AJ began chatting.  A Tweet turned into a text and then the worst happened.  Savannah's mother had a heart attack.  Thankfully Savannah was there to rush her to the emergency room.

A few days later (but still in the hospital), Savannah's mother was doing great!  Dressed to impress wearing a sweater vest AND a tie (Her mother loves ties!) and flowers in hand, AJ  came to the hospital.  At this point they had not seen each other since their initial meeting over three years ago.  Savannah wearing what she left the house in to rush her mother to the hospital, an old t-shirt and jeans.  They spent a lot of time in the hospitals waiting room chatting and getting aquatinted with one another.

In this one day, AJ meet just about every important person in Savannah's life as family, friends and co-workers were coming to visit her mother and her at the hospital.

Savannah and AJ dated throughout the rest of their college career.  On the day of her graduation, amongst friends and family, AJ sent her on a scavenger hunt for presents around his house.  When she returned to the living room where everyone was gathered, she wanted to show them the gift she just found and was ready to read her next clue, the room was cleared.  AJ's brother handed her the hint for her next gift.  The clue read, "Where would we go when we're old and grey to sit outside and rock our lives away?"

Knowing his parents had rocking chairs on their front porch, she quickly went to the front door while trying to hold back the "ugly cry". She found everyone outside on the front lawn and AJ sitting in a rocking chair motioning for her.  He knelt to one knee and asked her to be his wife. . .she said yes!!!

My friend, Gary Ezell, and I will be photographing their sweet wedding at the Mill at Yellow River (also known as the Porterdale Lofts).  Can't wait!

OH!  Don't forget to check out their wedding website and Pass Gallery. . .You will be able to share and download their gorgeous images from there.  :)  http://ajsavannah.hollylrobbins.com

Ladies night out. . .

IMG_30761.jpg

I consider myself a fun loving, silly, outgoing person.  However, I'm not the kinda girl that ever buys a new shirt and shoes, hires a driver (well, my sweet and very awesome husband did!) and goes out on the town with my girlfriends!  Until last night!!!! lol

This sounds dumb. . .But I felt so pretty!  For the first time in a very looooong time I did my makeup and got my hair done.  I was surrounded by my girlfriends and cutting up.  Our conversations included: our babies (of course!), how we met our husbands and how old we were when we married them, speaking Chinese, speaking British and well probably stuff that needs to stay between us!  lol

I didn't have a bachelorette party when I married Trey over 10 years ago.  Nor do I have very good memories from our wedding day.  These ladies, my husband and my family and friends are helping us recreate the day and new memories!  SO thankful to have the opportunity to renew our vows and celebrate our love and life with each other.

God is good!

Tanner Turns Two!

IMG_19201.jpg

I consider myself one very blessed photographer!  It's incredible to get to whiteness this little guy growing up in front of my camera and to get to know his sweet family!

Although, I went to high school with Alisha and Randall, they were a little younger than me and in a different grade.  Years later in the Fall of 2011 during my annual Fall mini sessions I got to meet their sweet son Tanner.  He is now TWO years old!  :)  Alisha contacted me about photographing his very cool circus themed party!  How could I pass that up?!?!?

As you can tell Alisha is very creative!  She made most all of the decor AND Tanner's outfit too!

We took off for a little family time in front of the camera before the festivities began!

CHEESE!   :)

He loved it when everyone was singing Happy Birthday to him.

And a two year old's birthday isn't complete without a Power Wheel!

When I arrived at Tanner's birthday party, I couldn't help but think how cute his decor was and how well it would translate into a little studio set up.  I ran the idea by Alisha and she agreed.  :)  We set up for them to visit my little home studio for a cake smash!

Happy birthday Tanner!!!!

Now that equals ONE very interesting and fun weekend!  :)

One year ago Trey and I got crazy and opened AllStar AirSoft, LLC in Covington, Georgia.  We had no idea what we were getting ourselves into.  Seriously!!!  But we both felt lead and we followed.  We have had ups and downs. . .but the ups are most certainly out-weighing the downs.  We are having a great time with this venture.  We have met so many great kids and adults!  In honor of our one year, we celebrated!

The line was out the door!!!  Our awesome regulars got there first!

This is a family run business.  My nephew's Taylor and Ethan are having fun with the crowd.
We called in to our friends at Bullritos, our favorite local restaurant.  It was unbelievaBULL!
Getting the first round started!

We raffled off over $1,000 of great prizes - Including GUNS!  And our awesome sponsor showed up with over $1,000 worth of prizes too.  Thank you Command Airsoft Technologies for your support!  The guys and gals really enjoyed it!

The crowd went wild when Fernando & Gabriel Gordinho, owners of
Command Airsoft Technologies, walked on the field!
Soooo, who wants to win a prize????

My sweet hubby and his sister announcing the winner of the ICS G33.

Everyone was super pumped!

AND the winner is. . .

What an incredible event!  God has really blessed Trey and I and we are so very grateful!  We love getting to know the players and parents and knowing that this is a safe place for children to have a great time.  I can't thank y'all enough for your support.

During our One Year Anniversary, I snuck away for a couple of hours to photograph a sweet, circus themed two year old birthday party. . .Post will be up soon!  :)

Happy Tuesday y'all!
Love.

Julie + Ty | A Starrsville Plantation Engagement Session

IMG_9854-Version-21.jpg
Over the weekend I drove to Starrsville Plantation in Covington, Georgia to meet my friend Gary Ezell.  We have teamed up to document Julie + Ty's love story.
Perfect March weather, gorgeous venue, amazing couple - I have to be the luckiest girl eva to get to photograph such amazingness!
Julie met Ty when she was just a little girl while her baby sitter was taking care of her. <---- I think that sentence alone tells you just how far back this story goes!!!  :)  WAAAAAY back.  They have always known each other but Julie and Ty didn't see each other "that way" until years later.

During their session we were all standing in the middle of a huge clover field.  I jokingly told everyone to stop and look for a four leaf clover.  Julie instantly hollers out, "Oh, I found one!"  Yes, I know!  She's one lucky girl!!!
